I am a Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Pediatrics at the University of Miami. Throughout my career, my research has focused on “risk and resilience” in youths’ physical and mental health. This is exemplified by my research on the impact of adolescents’ peer relations (including peer and cyber victimization) on their feelings of social anxiety and depression, and the impact of natural disasters on youth and families’ psychological and physical health.
