Thames Valley Police Officer "We were riding in a national speed limit on wet roads. I approached a right hander at around 30mph and the front wheel slipped out half way round the corner. There was some dirt on the road, but nothing more than other roads. I was happy with my approach speed and position and wasn't sure the exact reason the bike slipped, there were no brakes applied and I was in a higher gear to avoid the rear spinning, but clearly the tyre grip trade off must have been compromised at some point. The bike low-sided, landing on the right crash bars, crushing my right ankle under the pegs(no injury thanks to good boots). As the bike slipped under me, the bike threw me off and away hitting me against the muddy/gravel/water farm entrance floor, at this point the airbag exploded instantly. I slid around 30-40 feet across said ground at around 25 mph on my right hip(no injury thanks to good leathers), adjoining zip, back and right arm before coming to rest on my right hand side. The airbag was tight around my neck completely disabling movement of my head and lifting me and my head off the ground by around 4 inches voiding any knocks to my helmet. My helmet was wedged tightly between the airbag forcing the chin strap tight against my chin. The airbag was rock solid and remained inflated for around a minute or so. The bike slid into a fence post, buckling the front wheel and coming to rest leaning against a gate. The air vest was covered in mud, water and grit on the right hand side as were my trousers. I replaced the air canister in minutes at the roadside. I washed the air vest high visibility outter in the washing machine on a low temperature with some washing powder for 30 mins that evening. There is absolutely no damage to the airbag or air vest at all. I was extremely impressed with its performance, support and durability, a great piece of kit!"
