The Learjet 36A is a business jet aircraft developed by Gates Learjet, and is a long-range version of the Learjet 35A with an increased maximum takeoff weight. Like the Learjet 35A, this aircraft has the fuselage and main wings of the company's Learjet 25 extended to improve payload and cruising range. The Learjet 36A reduced its maximum passenger capacity for the Learjet 35A's eight to six, while increasing its range by about 800km to enable transatlantic crossings. The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force adopted the Learjet 36A in 1984 under the name of U-36A, as a substitute for the UP-2J, and has been remodeling and operating it as a training support aircraft. This model kit from SOVA-M comes with photo-etched parts, painting mask seals, newly molded under-wing radar pods, and decals for two versions.
