Juneteenth parade in Waco draws hundreds amid renewed calls for justice

Description

Hundreds turned out for this year’s Juneteenth parade in Waco, donning masks and gloves to celebrate a 155-year tradition still new to some who attended.

Lily Gladstone, an esteemed Blackfeet actress who grew up in Browning and East Glacier, Montana, was honored by the Blackfeet Nation for her accomplishments after becoming the first Indigenous person to win a Golden Globe award for her role in "Killers of the Flower Moon." Gladstone received a stand-up headdress, which is unique to the Blackfeet Confederacy and bares great symbolism and honor.
